Desert God

This a plain OpenGL project. I am going to use Windows SDK  and OpenGL for this project without any game engine. I am going to log the output and screenshot for better understand of OpenGL API. This will guide newbie to get an idea about what may go wrong in the code and where to start searching for. I am documenting most probable undesirable effect which i get through out the project . What i have done so far.. Have done some snippets from Super Bible and Red Book (Not all Though). written a code for .obj model loading by selecting key option you  ca n switch to

  1. Drawing is done using simple triangle
  2. Drawing using data array
  3. Drawing with DrawArray
  4. Drawing with Draw Elements with array pointers
  5. Drawing with Draw Elements with Interleaved Array

Well i am keeping data for all options so, Space and the speed of the program is not into consideration.

I have NOT done any optimization of the code. I have kept for learning purpose.

Loading a .obj model

Desert God 1

Initializing model with Normal, Light

Desert God 2

Initializing with SkyBox (Tried loading some Texture)

Desert God 3

Loaded Skybox, Light, .. (Found Geometry too heavy)

Desert God 4

Lots of  time i am playing with models in Blender 2.6 (I love this Software)

  • Added some texture to models in Blender
  • Changed the plane which was too heavy

Texture Mapping

My DELL Studio laptop 1558 with ATI 5000 HD  series has be up 24 hrs for few days now. It have suddenly stopped and showed me BSOD. I am worried that i might have broken something (i though maintain sufficient airflow but ) it gets heated up in quite a less time.

Over a month same problem continued so i submitted laptop for minor repair but same problem persist. Its has been over a months now i haven’t done any heavy graphical activity on GC.
